Mongolia360 is a national information portal for Mongolia. We respect your privacy and aim to collect only what we need to operate the service, keep it secure, and improve it. This policy explains the data we handle and how we handle it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone.
Information we collect
We keep data collection deliberately minimal:
- Usage analytics. We record aggregate, anonymized usage such as which pages are viewed and general device and browser type. IP addresses used for analytics are hashed (one-way) so individual visitors cannot be identified from them.
- Contribution and inquiry details. When you submit a place, story, business, event, photo, or advertising inquiry, we collect the content you provide along with the name and email you optionally supply so we can follow up. These contact details are kept private and are never shown publicly alongside your contribution.
- Cookies and session data. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (for editors and partners), to remember your language preference, and to maintain a secure session. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you.
- Spam protection signals. Our submission forms include an invisible honeypot field and basic anti-abuse checks. These help us reject automated spam without requiring intrusive verification from real people.
How we use your information
- To operate, secure, and improve the Mongolia360 website.
- To review submitted contributions and, where needed, contact you to verify or follow up on what you shared. Contributor contact details are used only for this purpose.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the portal is used so we can prioritize content and fix problems.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to spam, fraud, and abuse.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for. Aggregate analytics are retained in anonymized form. Contribution and inquiry records are retained while they are relevant to maintaining the content and for a reasonable period afterward, then removed or further anonymized. You may ask us to delete contact details associated with your submissions.
How we protect your data
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls limiting who on our team can see contributor contact details, and one-way hashing of IP addresses used for analytics. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Your rights and choices
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of contact details tied to your contributions or inquiries.
- Control cookies through your browser settings; note that disabling essential cookies may affect sign-in and language preferences.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of infrastructure and analytics providers to run the service. They process data only on our behalf and under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your data and we do not allow these providers to use it for their own marketing.
